Mountain State Bank is a brand new business to Dawson County. They were subject to follow the GA 400 Development Guidelines because they are in the GA 400 corridor. Unfortunately, the builder did not follow the requirements. Hopefully, it is not too late to get them to make the changes so they can be designated a "Good Neighbor".
This photograph shows the location of some of the light fixtures. Bad light fixtures are indicated in RED and the proper light fixtures are indicated in BLUE. Mountain State Bank has 4 uplighting fixtures which are against the guideline specifications. They have several parking lot lights that are excellent and comply completely.
This is what Mountain State Bank looks like in the evening. This photograph shows both the good and the bad. Compare the brightness of the parking lot light with the brightness of the fascade of the building. The parking lot lights are full-cutoff fixtures and the uplight floodlights are not.
This is a close-up of the parking lot fixture identifed in the first photograph. These are excellent light fixtures! The light source and the lens are not visible when viewing from the side.
This shows the floodlights on the fascade of the building. Uplighting is not allowed according to the GA 400 Guidelines. Another example of a business ignoring established requirements.
