The Kanagroo convenience store is a MAJOR source of light pollution in the county.  Drivers that enter this store are greeted by a blinding lighting arrangement that is very dangerous, especially to the elderly.  Kangaroo has the distinction of having every light on their property being BAD!!  This store has several "light cannons" that are pointing lights horizontally at the building.  Not only do the lights light up the front of the building, they also light up the entire sky!!  Tell the management that they need to reduce their lighting and become "Good Neighbors".

This photograph shows the location of some of the light fixtures. Bad light fixtures are indicated in RED and the proper light fixtures are indicated in BLUE.  This business has so many light polluting fixtures that they all can't fit in a single picture.

This is a view of the Kangaroo canopy as viewed from the north.  The fixtures under the canopy should be recessed to prevent the huge amount of glare.  Additionally, right above the vehicle at the pump, 2 of the light cannons are seen.  This business has 6 of these monstrosities on their property.

This is a close-up of the fixtures under the canopy (C in the first picture).  These fixtures should be recessed to prevent excessive glare.  Also, these are very high wattage lights, so they could reduce the number by one half and still have plenty of lights for patrons.

This is a close-up the light cannons used by Kangaroo.  Kangaroo uses 6 of these monsters!!!  These fixtures should be outlawed.  The amount of light being directed to the sky is awful.  These particular lights are responsible for most of the skyglow from the GA 400 & GA 53 intersection.  Since this business never closes, there is never any relief from the pollution these lights produce.

All of the lights used by Kangaroo produce light pollution. Even their sign illumination is terrible as this fixture shows (D in the first picture). Not only does the light shine on the sign, but most of the light misses the sign and is directed upwards to the sky. At the very minimum, light fixture should be pointed 90 degrees down so there is no light tresspass.

Kangaroo does not limit their bad lighting to the front of the building. These fixtures were found around the back of the building. They should be shielded to keep all of the light directed down.
