Home Depot is another contributor to light pollution in the GA 400 corridor. None of their fixtures are full-cutoff and they have dozens of light fixtures on the exterior of their building. Besides using unacceptable fixtures, the front of the store is substantially brighter than it needs to be.
This photograph shows the location of some of the main type of light fixtures used by Home Depot.
This is what Home Depot looks like at night. The front of the store is needlessly bright. The parking lot lights give of alot of glare and combine those with the directional lights that horizontally light the fascade, it is suprizing that patrons don't suffer retinal burns!
This shows the side and back of Home Depot. The building is ringed by unshielded fixtures creating a huge amount of glare.
This is a close-up of the B fixture in the first photograph. The top lights are not full-cutoff, which means that when looking at the fixture from the side, the light source and lens shouldn't be visible. The directional lights below the top fixtures horizontally illuminates the front of Home Depot. Lighting horizontally causes light to scatter into the sky.
This shows the fixture A in the first photograph. Since this fixture is not shielded, blinding glare is produced.
Look at all of these lights!!! All of them are BAD fixtures. What a waste of energy!
This is a close-up of the previous pictures fixtures.
