CVS was built before the GA 400 Development guidelines were enacted, so CVS didn't have the benefit of lighting suggestions to help the builder.  Most of the lighting is coming from the strip lighting under the eaves of the building and although the fixtures are not shielded, they are low intensity lights which do not cause the blinding glare associated with other unshielded fixtures.  Also, CVS is not lighting 2 of their 4 parking lot lights.  This keeps lighting levels down to acceptable levels and the parking lot and store front are still very visible and safe.  This may be a temporary situation and the lights may be turned back on.  Also, exterior lights are turned out during closed hours.  Because of this, CVS gets a decent Lighting Grade and is considered a "Good Neighbor".

This photograph shows the location of some of the light fixtures. Bad light fixtures are indicated in RED.

This is what CVS looks like in the evening.  Several parking lot lights are turned off, but the entrance is well lit.  The strip lighting fixtures are visible under the eaves.

This photograph shows the strip lights under the eaves. These fixtures are not shielded but employ low wattage bulbs which are easy on the eyes.

This shows the parking lot lights used by CVS.  These fixtures are of the "sag lens" type.  These fixtures are not considered full-cutoff because the lens is visible when the light is viewed from the side.  Because several of these lights are turned out in the parking lot, excessive glare is not produced from this business.
