Comfort Inn was built before the GA 400 guidelines were adopted.  Comfort Inn has no full-cutoff fixtures installed on the property, The good news is that the fixtures are a lower wattage so the glare is not as pronounced.

This photograph shows the location of some of the light fixtures.  All of the fixtures found are not full cutoff.

This shows a second set of parking lot lights that are used to horizontally illuminate the parking lot and fascade.  This type of lighting must not be allowed in the county.

This shows Comfort Inn at night.  This photograph shows all of the poorly shielded lights.  Also, it shows the uplit fascade.  Uplighting buildings is one of the major.sources of light pollution.  The GA 400 Development guidelines prevents uplighting for this very reason.

This is a closeup of the horizontal parking lot lights.  Lights need point 90 degrees downward to prevent light tresspass.  If these lights pointed down, Comfort Inn would have gotten a better Lighting Grade.

This shows the wallpack fixtures employed by Comfort Inn.  These are only cutoff and not full-cutoff fixtures.  If these lights had a shield that directed all light down, they would have been designated as full-cutoff.

Fixture C in the first photograph is shown above. This fixture wastes a large portion of the light produced by shining it into the sky. Fascade illumination by uplighting is a very BAD practice.
