Chik-Fil-A should be used as a lighting model for Dawson County.  All of their fixtures are low wattage which reduces the eye strain.  Their parking lot lights are all full cutoff.  The only "problem" light fixtures Chik-Fil-A has is the up-light fixtures that they have mounted on their walls.  It is amazing when you compare the intensity of Chik-Fil-A lights as compared to Home Depot.  Chik-Fil-A could probably eliminate 1 or 2 parking lot lights to cut the brightness down a bit, but other than that, Chik-Fil-A is a "Good Neighbor".

This photograph shows the location of the key light fixture types. Bad light fixtures are indicated in RED and good fixtures are in BLUE.

This is what Chik-Fil-A looks like in the evening.  Compare the intensity of the lights shown at the left of the photograph.  The light to the far left belongs to Home Depot, the 2 fixtures to the right belong to Chick Fil-A.  Notice how much dimmer Chik-Fil-A's parking lot light are?  Also, notice there is no glare on Chik-Fil-A's because the fixtures are full cutoff.  Home Depot does not use full cutoff fixtures.

This photograph shows the fixtures identified as A in the first picture.  These fixtures cast an uplight which are contrary to the GA 400 guidelines.  But the intensity of the light shining upwards is very small.

This is the B fixture in the first photograph.  This is a fantastic "shoebox" style full-cutoff fixture.  Notice that the light source and the lens would not be visible when viewing this fixture directly from the side.  Couple the design of the fixture with the low intensity bulb make Chik-Fil-A one of the best non-light polluting businesses in the county.
