Burger King is another contributor to the light pollution problem for Dawson County.  Since the building was constructed before the GA 400 Guidelines were adopted, they were not subject to the rules.  Consequently, all of the fixtures on the Burger King business are incorrect.  However, Burger King shuts off it's exterior lighting when closed, so this business gets a passing Lighting Grade.

This photograph shows the location of some of the light fixtures. Bad light fixtures are indicated in RED.  The parking lot has only lighting on poles and the fixtures are not shielded.

This is what Burger King looks like in the evening.  Notice all of the glare produced by the parking lot lights.  These lights should be pointed 90 degrees down to prevent the glare.

This is another angle of Burger King at night.  The glare from the light at the exit is a example of the safety hazard of bright lights blinding drivers.

This is the A fixture in the first photograph.  This is a BAD implementation of  the light fixtures.  If the fixtures were pointing down at a 90 angle, there would be no light tresspass and the light will go to where it is intended.  It is these lights that Burger King turns off while closed.  Thank goodness!
